First Choice UK, a specialist in all-inclusive holidays, has launched a fun new tool to help clients compare the costs of holiday options. The exclusive online calculator measures the total cost of an all inclusive holiday versus a self-catered one.
While in London for spring break we decided to book a tour with London Taxi Tour as we had used them on previous trips for a Harry Potter tour and a day trip to Stratford-upon-Avon. This time we opted for a tour that would take us to Canterbury Cathedral as well as Dover where we could visit Dover Castle and see the famous white cliffs.
My daughter is a huge fan of American Girl dolls. Browsing the catalog and website is entertaining, but actually visiting a store is an entirely different level of excitement. It’s so much more than a toy store; it’s an experience to remember. If you are visiting one of the many store locations around the USA or the specialty boutiques in Canada and Mexico City, use these tips to ensure a memorable visit to American Girl.
I don't enjoy roller coasters or thrill rides of any other sort for that matter and neither does my 11 year-old daughter, Emma. We are the type that are quite content to enjoy tame rides such as It's a Small World at Disney World several times each visit. Despite this we always visit Canada's premier amusement park, Canada's Wonderland, each season and have discovered that there is still quite a bit of fun to be had.
We have a history of skin cancer in our family so I have been very concerned about sun exposure since my girls were tiny babies. When they were quite little I was able to find UV protective cover ups for them (though not exactly fashionable) but it became impossible to find UV protective swimwear that they wanted to wear as they grew older. I recently heard about the Sunuva line of kids UV swimwear and beachwear and was immediately impressed by how stylish it was.
When my family moved abroad from Indiana to England, I knew we’d have a lot of new experiences coming our way. Afternoon tea? Medieval castles? Tube rides through London? Yes, please. Skiing? No, thank you. My one and only skiing experience was 15 years ago in Colorado and involved a fun lesson followed by a painful reminder of what a novice I was when I took a tumble. Let’s just say I was glad our expat assignment was to rural England, not high atop the Alps.
I resisted the idea of taking an all-inclusive holiday for years. I was adamant that it was not a style of holiday that I would enjoy and refused to even consider staying at an all-inclusive resort. Imagine my surprise then when I finally visited an all-inclusive resort and had a wonderful time! First Choice recently contacted me to ask if I would write about my all-inclusive experience for their I Heart All Inclusive - Travel Blog Competition and I was happy to share my thoughts.
We have visited the Atlantic provinces of Canada several times over the past 17 years beginning with our first trip to Prince Edward Island the summer that my older daughter was a toddler. The region remains one of our favourite destinations for the laid-back atmosphere, stunning natural landscape and family-friendly activities.
Summer vacation is about to start and like many other parents I am on the lookout for engaging reading material for kids. I have just finished reviewing The New York Times Bestseller National Geographic Kids Almanac 2016 and can recommend it as a great addition to any elementary school-aged child's summer reading list.
On a recent spring break trip to Amsterdam and London, we visited some of the world's best known museums including the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, and the Anne Frank House. However, we also enjoyed visiting three small lesser-known museums - Amsterdam Cheese Museum, Amsterdam Tulip Museum and Kattenkabinet.
